In an interconnected world, in which so much information suffuses our capacity to understand, we desperately search for the tools which will allow us to distinguish between reality and the deafening noise that makes up our media-based consumer reality. In "Manuscript 408" we put forward a game of questions with no answers, an enjoyable piece of fun which quizzes us about what reality, in truth, is for each of us.

SYNOPSIS
The existence of a medieval manuscript, whose content remains unknown, takes Jacobo Alonso on a journey through the most outlandish quarters of the Internet. An artificial world of conspiracies, half-truths, urban legends, historical fact, and political, esoteric and religious deliriums destroys Jacobo's mind. Faced with the impossibility of distinguishing relevant information from among the most fantastic chimeras, Jacobo loses his reason. Like a cybernetic Quixote, or a Faust on the Net, Jacobo undertakes a journey of initiation in search of a true reality.



	A visual spectacle, a comedy, a musical, a cybernetic cabaret, a crazy documentary, an essay on curiosity, on the construction of reality… Esoterics, manipulation, Internet, conspiracies…
Taking as a starting point the Voynich Manuscript, a medieval encrypted text belonging to Yale University, we present a show in which reality and the distortion of it (born from the avalanche of information available to us since the first appearance of the Internet) is the raw material on which we build our production. Almost in the sense of a conceptual work, the original music, text, plastic and video art, the actors' craft… all these elements which make up the production have been developed through an investigative process guided by the concept of reality.

In MANUSCRIPT 408 we use a story conceived as an engine for reflection. We present, work and dissect it from a double perspective. On the one hand, the sensual experience; the magical visual composition, projections, slides, light, shade and superimpositions, all composing a delirious style in which the beauty of the design pushes forward the narration of the story from surprise to fascination. On the other hand a reflective experience that formulates concepts which appear in our daily lives or indeed our very human nature. The curiosity that leads us to desire, to search or even to swallow conspiracies or mysteries, a curiosity that drags us towards a world of interweaved communication, a world of information, where what is relevant, fictitious or downright ludicrous exist together fighting for space and the consumer's attention.In MANUSCRIPT 408 Internet plays a fundamental role. The Net is the territory and space where the action unfolds. New social relationship systems, new conflicts and a new perception of what is real confront both each other and human nature on the stage. It is an epic, focused on the search for an objective reality amidst the lava that gushes forth from our computer screens. Reality or fiction…. Judge for yourselves…
